TTC Metropasses

For commuter students attending UTSC, public transit is an essential means of getting to class in a timely manner. In recent years, however, the cost of using public transit within the City of Toronto has spiraled upward due to declining provincial and federal government funding, and rising systems maintenance costs. In an effort to ease the financial strain on its student members, the SCSU in collaboration with other local student organizations has successfully lobbied the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) to offer a reduced monthly transit rate.

The Scarborough Campus Students’ Union (SCSU) is pleased to announce that starting for August sales of September passes, in addition to offering the VIP TTC Metropasses (cost $107.00), we will also offer the Student Discount Metropass which is at a low cost of $99.00 for all UTSC students only. However, in order for students to be eligible to purchase the Student Discount Metropass, students must present their TTC Photo I.D. card.

TTC POST SECONDARY MONTHLY METROPASS

  • Registered UTSC students are eligible to purchase the TTC Post Secondary Metropass at a discounted price of $99.00 at the SCSU Office in Room SL 108 starting on the 25th day of each month.
  • Alternatively, the TTC Post Secondary Metropass is also available for purchased at any of the TTC Subway Stations for the same price of $99.00.  Please ensure that you present your TTC Photo I.D. Card to be eligible to purchase the discounted pass.

  • The card must be shown to TTC employees when using a Post-Secondary Student Metropass, or an Adult Fare is required.

  • The card is not transferable.  The card remains the property of the TTC and must be surrendered upon request for inspection.  It may be confiscated if the holder violates TTC By-law No. 1 or alters the card in any way.  The card will not be returned and you may not apply for a new one.
