SCSU Tax Clinic

The SCSU Tax Clinic, first operated in 2006, is a walk-in service held over two weeks available to all UTSC students.  In collaboration with the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP) from the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), the Tax Clinic is a free service for UTSC students to complete their income tax and benefit returns.

We are a program that operates out of our 50 dedicated student volunteer staff and generous sponsors.  The Tax Clinic is also a program that allows for student development, providing an environment to exercise and learn valuable skills such as teamwork, communication, and tax filing.  We provide our volunteers with an intensive two day training session and opportunity to give back to the UTSC community.

Our Mission

  1. Provide a high standard of accurate and efficient tax filing services
  2. Educate tax filers on the tax filing process, giving students the knowledge and confidence to prepare tax returns with minimal assistance
  3. Development program for our student tax associate staff to strengthen and hone skills such as teamwork, communication, and working in a fast paced environment
